‘On the Way out’ again

One of the former students of our school talked about his interesting walk of life and book to our school-leavers. It was amusing to see the photos of the presenter's journey around the world, from America to Asia. We could see the cities and the sights of New York, London, Barcelona, Prague, but we also could take delight in the pictures of wonderful landscapes of Asia and Africa. Meanwhile we talked about the writing of the book, the pleasures and difficulties of a writer's job.

The Month of School Libraries

The former president of International Association of School Librarianship, Dr. Blanche Wolls appealed to organize the International School Library Day in 1999. It was held on 18 October, 1999. From 2008, October is the International School Library Month. They would like to call students, teachers, parents and presses' attention to school libraries with the events of this day in schools all around the world. This programme is also supported by the European Union.

The Day of Folk Tales

Traditionally, we also celebrate the Day of Folk Tales in our school library. This year, on Elek Benedek’s birthday we organized a quiz with our partner schools. More details can be read on the homepage of our school. Of course, we haven't forgotten our tale-loving pupils. Our 2nd graders could enjoy the tale of Musicians of Bremen in our Paper Theatre on 2 October. The next two afternoons they could come to our handicraft clubs where the leading part was also of tales.

New school year has started

The new school year has started on 2 September. We will organize several events also this year, such as author-reader meetings or cultural and handicraft clubs. New books have also arrived to our library, and more wishes can come true in November. Our readers have taken possession of school library still on the first days. Pictures are available under Images on this homepage.
We hope we will have lots of pleasure and success this year, too.
